The European Commission has published an updated Q&A document on the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), which affects third-country exporters and EU importers of record.

Following on from our recent CBAM webinar, we are running a virtual half day masterclass. This will demystify the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and provide businesses with a clear understanding of how to navigate compliance and create a competitive advantage.

Agenda

• Section 1: An introduction to the general topic of carbon management and accounting, introducing basic terminology and concepts to provide clarity on the broader subject before applying these concepts to CBAM.
• Section 2: The EU CBAM, topics covered will include its background, scope and timeline, key players and terminology, the methodology required to calculate emissions and how these will need to be provided, and how to capitalise on the opportunity presented by the regulation.
• Section 3: The UK CBAM, covering the current stage of the UK’s version of CBAM, its proposed outline scope, timeline, methodology and requirements.

What will you take away from the session

• You will come away from the Masterclass with a good understanding of both EU and UK CBAM regulations, as well as broader knowledge of carbon accounting and net zero.
• You will be equipped to speak with some authority on the CBAM requirements and make informed decisions about how to proceed with tackling their current commercial pressures from their EU customers and help prepare them for the UK CBAM, thereby supporting business competitiveness and growth.
• All attendees have the opportunity of a FREE 30 minute 1-2-1 session after the Masterclass to cover more specific or bespoke questions.
