The International Trade team would like to congratulate Jenson Davies from the Woodland Group who recently achieved the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) Foundation Award in International Trade. By sitting 6 of our accredited BCC training courses, as well as passing all subsequent exams for each topic, Jenson has completed a nationally accredited trade course programme.
Through our training courses, Jenson now has the essential skills to navigate the complex world of International Trade. He was even able to undertake the training by accessing a funding programme we were running in collaboration with Chelmsford City Council at the time.
Accredited courses by the BCC not only form part of the international trade course programme but also give essential skills that are invaluable to small and large businesses alike.
Our current offering of BCC accredited training courses are;
• Customs Procedures & Documentation
• Export Procedures & Documentation
• Import Procedures & Documentation
• Incoterms®2020
• Inward & Outward Processing
• Understanding Rules of Origin
• Letters of Credit
Every course is held virtually and runs for half a day. After the course attendees are sent a short assessment paper to complete and pass. Each assessment pass is awarded with a credit towards the BCC Foundation Award in International Trade and you need to pass all 6 courses to gain enough credits to achieve the accreditation.
Joe Steele, Export Manager at Woodland Group, commented on Jenson’s accolade, saying “Apprentices like Jenson join Woodland with little to no industry experience. We use the apprenticeship training alongside our own expertise to develop knowledgeable and passionate apprentices across numerous areas including freight forwarding. For Jenson, completing the training he undertook with the Essex Chambers of Commerce is incredibly valuable. As he nears the end of his apprenticeship, Jenson aims to remain with Woodland and continue developing his skills in international Imports and Exports. As a group, we pride ourselves largely on one focus, retention. To date, 100% of apprentices who have successfully completed their apprenticeship have remained with Woodland in a full-time position post learning. We hope this will be the case for Jenson, and as an experienced apprentice, he will play an integral role in the support and coaching of the next cohort of apprentices we welcome to the company.”
Angela Turner, the Export Documentation Manager at Essex Chambers of Commerce said “Congratulations to Jenson on his fantastic achievement. We are so pleased that through our International Trade offering and support, Jenson was able to accomplish the accreditation and use this training and new knowledge to help Woodland Group continue to grow and flourish in the world of trade.”
